FAQ

How quickly will you post my order?

I aim to dispatch orders within 1-2 business days, but occasionally processing might take a little bit longer. I always have an up to date processing timeframe displayed on the 'Delivery' page.

I need my order in a hurry - can you help?

I do understand that sometimes 'craft emergencies' can arise and, whilst I will always try and accommodate urgent requests wherever I can, I can only do this as long as it won't delay someone else's order. So, if speed is of the essence, please contact me before ordering to find out what the options are rather than leaving a note at checkout. During peak times I may already be working very long hours and not be able to fast-track. If you're in the UK, you can also select 1st Class postage at checkout.

Can I exchange items?

Yes, I'm happy to exchange items, but you would have to cover the additional postage - please contact me within 7 days of receipt of your order for further details. Items exempt from exchange or return are those ordered in especially for you on a custom order basis. (Although you would still be entitled to your statutory rights, of course, and would be covered for quality issues or damage during transit).

Is your packaging environmentally friendly?

Some time ago now I switched away from traditional plastic bags to biodegradable and 100% recycled bags as well as paper bags for most of my orders. (The only exception being the tiny plastic grip bags for the sterling silver beads as I still haven't found a suitable air tight alternative for them).

I have also switched to recyclable and degradable packing tape that is still strong and reliable during transit. Most of my orders will now ship in brown, un-bleached postal boxes, but I still have some stock of bubble envelopes which I will use up rather than throw out. I do also re-use much of the packing material that my own wholesale orders arrive in. The best philosophy to follow is, I think, to use the least amount of packaging necessary in the first place, whether it's eco friendly or not..

Do you do wholesale?

I already offer some quantity discounts on certain products for retail customers on the website, but may be able to offer further discounts for larger quantities per single item (usually on a pre-paid custom order basis which I tag onto my wholesale orders). Please don't hesitate to get in touch.

What type of chemicals are used during the leather cord manufacture?

All dyes used during manufacture of the leather cords are certified free from lead, AZO's, PCP, mercury, formaldehyde, Chromium VI, cadmium and other carcinogenic/hazardous chemicals.
They also fully comply with all requirements of the strict German Goods Ordinance, REACH (European Union), RoSH (U.K.), and CPSIA (U.S.) and exceed the most restrictive environmental requirements found worldwide.
